Factors to Consider When Owning a Timeshare Boat
Fractional yacht ownership offers many benefits, but there are a few things to consider before entering into a timeshare program.
Ownership percentages and usage rights
Ownership shares are generally divided into 25% fractions.
Each co-owner is entitled to 10 weeks of use per year, distributed equally between high and low seasons.
Thanks to the internal exchange system, it is possible to change the weeks based on availability.
Exit from the agreement and resale of the share
Infinity Italian Yacht offers different solutions to exit the program:
- Right of first refusal for other co-owners: if an owner decides to sell his share, the other multi-owners have priority in purchasing.
- Assisted resale through our network of selected customers: the share can be resold on the market with a recovery of up to 70% of the initial value.
- Trade-ins and Upgrades: You can trade in your share to a larger vessel or a new Yacht Time Share program.
Rules for use and management of weeks
Each co-owner follows a regulation that guarantees a fair and organized use of the boat:
- Automatic rotation of usage weeks.
- Possibility of exchange between co-owners.
- Possibility to rent unused weeks (occasional rental up to 42 days per year according to Italian law).
Services included and extra
Although the costs are significantly lower than traditional ownership, -75%, it is important to know that the annual management costs include storage, maintenance, mooring, insurance, captain and sailor.
In addition, only in case of actual use will the following be due:
- Cleaning, fuel and on-board service costs.
- Any extra costs for customized requests (additional crew, catering, excursions, private events on board).
